I Hate Writng This

Dobguy1 started this conversation

Its strange living in the good ol USA and having so many problems, my wife and I have a beautiful son and we managed to buy a house in North Carolina.  Last year I had cryptococcal Menengitis My Pageand almost died, because of this I have had severe vision problems and trouble concentrating.  I still try and work as much as I can but I feel my days of working may soon be over. I try not to let my son see my pain and he is only 4 but sooner or later he will find out what is wrong with dad.  It makes me so sad that I find myself crying alot, something I never did.  If anything can take you down its menengitis and it did to me.  I was lucky a girl in the next room died of the disease.  Its hard dealing with the after effects of this disease and the nuerological problems it creates.  I have a bill from the hospital for 100,000 but need to pay 10% of it.  I know I probably wont get any help, its not that people dont care but everybody seems to be broke now.  All Im asking is if you could just donate 1.00 it would mean the world to me and my family.  Thanks for reading this far and please protect your health, it's all you have in this world.  Peace Dave

Hi, my name is Barb. I would like to suggest to you, some state resources if you have not already tried these social services. 1. talk to your social worker and request medicad to fill in the gap for your medical. The test is being able to pass the mean test. If you fail the mean test. Request for a hearing. The hearing will allow you to explain your life situation. Then contact billing at the hospital you were a patient at and explain your situation. This is very important, because you can get sued. Therefore, explain you are trying to have medicaid pay the rest of the hospital bill. 2. If you feel you are going to become disabled. Have a meeting with your family, this way everyone will be able to participate with out being confused. 3. Call a disability attorney, explain your case. The disability attorney will ask you to sign a contract stipulating payment if your case is won for disability. Then go to your nearest social security office and fill out the paperwork. They may turn you down. contact your attorney with updated medical records, so you may reapply. This is a 3 year wait, but after the night mare you will have an income in the home which will not be indigneous. Social services will be temporary disability. this is what you are hoping to achieve, once you speak with the social worker about your home and family life. Inquire about emergency food stamps. inquire about emergency healthcare. inquire about emergency public service this will be monies to be put towards the rent of your home. inquire about electric. I have to admit this is going to take your immune system through a number of changes in your body. You keep your self focused. Remember the people and the things that keep you happy and persevere. Take a sandwhich with you to the office because sometimes its all day long, bring a book or anything which keeps you relaxed. I wish the best to you and your family. If none of those services approve your condition. Call Vesid there is one in every state and request help from them. I believe this is for returning back to work, but this office may be able to assist in other ways. Barb
